Labquality and Mectalent Medical Services will merge
Labquality Ltd and consulting company Mectalent Medical Services Ldt (MMS), both part of the COR Group, will be merged. The new company will continue operating under Labquality’s name and invest heavily in product development.
The merger will combine the operations of two solid companies that are focused on developing the quality in healthcare and social services sectors, both being top experts in their line of business: Labquality in quality assessments and quality assurance for medical laboratories as well as certification and education services and Mectalent Medical Services in medical device and IVD-device registrations worldwide. The combined net sales of the two companies amounted to approximately 9 million euros in 2019, and together they employ 55 professionals.
The initial schedule for the merger is October 31, 2020.
Juha-Pekka Nuutinen appointed as new Managing Director
As part of the merger, Labquality’s board of directors has appointed Juha-Pekka Nuutinen as the Managing Director of Labquality, starting on July 1, 2020. Mr. Nuutinen, former Managing Director of MMS, is a 46-year-old PhD in technology with over 20 years of experience in medical devices and diagnostics. Director Olli Karhi from COR Group Oy will start as Labquality’s chairman of board.
Mia Lindstöm, who has acted as Managing Director of Labquality Ltd since 2013, will leave her duties on June 30, 2020. ”Labquality’s board of directors want to thank Mia Lindström for the successful period as Managing Director as well as for her input in building up the international operations and renewing the company for over seven years”, says Olli Karhi.
”We will continue to develop our operation both in terms of services provided to customers and internal processes. The new Labquality will be able to offer services that enable the laboratories to meet the requirements set for diagnostic devices by the new EU regulation. In addition, we are going to invest more in developing digital solutions in cooperation with COR Group”, states managing director Juha-Pekka Nuutinen.
